A dog just “accidentally” ran a half marathon… and placed 7th!

In 2016, a two-year-old bloodhound named Ludivine unexpectedly joined the Elkmont Half Marathon in Elkmont after her owner let her out for a quick bathroom break. Instead of heading home, she wandered onto the course — and ran the entire 13.1 miles, finishing 7th out of more than 160 runners.

She completed the race in about 90 minutes and was even awarded a medal for her performance. Her owner, April Hamlin, was stunned, saying she never imagined her dog had the endurance for a half marathon.

The wholesome moment quickly went viral, turning Ludivine into a local legend and a global feel-good reminder that sometimes the best stories happen by pure accident.
