Officials from the United States Department of Defense told senators in a closed-door briefing that the first six days of the w@r involving Iran have already cost more than $11.3 billion.

According to three sources familiar with the briefing, much of the cost comes from military operations and the replacement of munitions used during the conflict.

Chris Coons said the real cost could be even higher, noting that the estimate does not include every aspect of the w@r.

He added that the replacement cost of munitions alone is already “well beyond $10 billion.”

A spokesperson for the Pentagon declined to comment on the private briefing, saying the full cost will only be known once the mission ends.

The estimate comes as the administration considers requesting additional funding from Congress.
