Italian Caprese Salad – Fresh and Simple
A classic Italian starter featuring ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and fragrant basil, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic glaze. Light, colorful, and bursting with flavor!
Ingredients (Serves 2):
• 3 ripe tomatoes, sliced
• 200g fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
• Fresh basil leaves
• Extra virgin olive oil
• Balsamic glaze or reduction
• Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Instructions:
1. Arrange tomato and mozzarella slices alternately on a plate.
2. Tuck basil leaves between the slices.
3. Drizzle olive oil and balsamic glaze on top.
4. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
Italian Tip:
Use the freshest tomatoes and mozzarella possible for the best taste. Buffalo mozzarella is ideal!
