• In a new interview, Alysa Liu is defending fellow Olympian Eileen Gu against criticism over her decision to represent China in international competition.

Liu said she finds the backlash hypocritical, pointing out that Gu — who was born and raised in the U.S. but has a Chinese mother — has been criticized from multiple directions.

“I think people are hypocritical for shaming her for representing China,” Liu said. “Her mom is an immigrant. Y’all would have told her to go back to China. Now that they’re back in China, you’re mad.”

Gu sparked global debate when she chose to compete for China instead of the United States at the Olympics, a move that made her hugely popular in China while drawing criticism from some Americans.

  • China is rapidly reshaping the global automotive export market, shipping around 7.1 million vehicles abroad each year.
That massive scale strengthens factories , streamlines logistics , and speeds up product development for Chinese manufacturers.

As export volume rises, pricing , parts supply chains , and even industry standards start shifting worldwide. For global automakers, competing now means adapting to new cost curves , stronger supply networks , and changing trade dynamics.

  • In Shanghai, a public lawn near Yunjin Road now invites office workers to lie down and rest during lunch.
For years, grass in many Chinese cities was off-limits, but this space welcomes people to relax under the open sky.

Located in Xuhui District, the tiered lawn is designed for comfort and daily use.
In a fast-moving city, it’s a simple reminder that progress can also mean giving people space to slow down and breathe.
