Classic Creamy Beef Stroganoff Made Easy

    Ingredients:

1 pound beef sirloin or tenderloin, thinly sliced

Salt and black pepper to taste

    2 tablespoons olive oil

    1 medium onion, finely chopped

    2 cloves garlic, minced

    8 ounces mushrooms, sliced

    1 cup beef broth

    1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

    1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

    1 cup sour cream

    2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

    2 tablespoons butter

Cooked egg noodles or rice, for serving

    Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

    Directions:

Season beef slices with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and brown beef in batches until just cooked through. Remove beef and set aside.

In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onions and garlic until softened, about 3 minutes.

Add mushrooms and cook until browned and tender, about 5 minutes.

Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir well to coat. Cook for 1-2 minutes to remove raw flour taste.

Slowly stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard, bringing the mixture to a simmer.

Return beef to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Remove skillet from heat and stir in sour cream until smooth. Do not boil after adding sour cream to prevent curdling.

Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice. Garnish with chopped parsley.
